Something must be wrong with my arithmetic i guess. My calculation of the cost per shot is $0.48. This is for a 110g load of Blackhorn which actually weighs 77g, and a cost of $2.75 per ounce.

Even if it cost $0.70 per shot, i wouldn't hesitate to burn Blackhorn.

Fuel costs me a way more than powder, when i go shooting, or hunting. I don't eat out, don't drink scotch, don't go to movies, but i do shoot Blackhorn, eat venison, drink 'expensive' beer, and grow a garden.

Yes Ron that is why I worded it the way I did. But me3 thinks your arithmetic is wrong. I figure at 437 gr./ounce (7000/16= 437.5) you would get just about 4 loads at 110 grains and at $2.75 an ounce. So to round things out 2.80/4=.70.
The only negative I see about BH209 IS the price. It burns clean, no swabbing, more velocity and likely a couple more I can't think of off hand. I have about 4-5 ounces left and I just may buy more if it shoots good out of my Accura V2. I figure any animal worth shooting at is worth whatever it cost to get a clean humane kill.

Aah, i see what the issue is now...... 110g of Blackhorn actually weighs 77 grain.

I paid $44.50 for a 10 oz. can. :/

$4.45 per ounce for the 10 ounce bottle.......

My cost a couple of weeks ago was $2.75 per ounce, which involved purchasing a case of the powder on the internet, and having it shipped to my home.

Yep, VOLUME discount Ron. That's the one and only way to actually "save" money buying powder over the net. It's just not cost effective to buy 3 or 4 of the 10oz jugs online. I don't shoot my MLers enough to justify buying 10 pounds of BH (although I did for my daughter and I because it was a good deal) but I buy and search rifle and pistol powders enough to know that the absolute ONLY way to save money buying powder online is volume.

OH OK - I had my black powder hat on and was thinking volume in lieu of weight....
