IF.....

If i were to buy a new sidelock , this would be the one . A 1:24 twist is my preference . I would get a 54 though rather than the 50 . But alas i wont be buying a new Sidelock anytime soon . But ..... If i ever do , this is the one :)

I would like to try a 1-24 54cal sometime but not enough to risk a large investment. My 1-28 shoots very well. Cabelas used to sell the InvestArms 54cal 1-24 carbines.

A fast twist 45cal (of course) sounds fun but since i can use a 40cal here (legally) a 40cal 1-16 would be the most interesting for me to try. I would love one in a specific purpose built inline to shoot a 405win 300gr bullet.

I would love it in a fast twist 45cal as well especially if they made it in a Left Handed Flintlock version as we can only use flintlocks in our Late ML season here in PA. But then again, I could use it during our regular rifle or early ML season.

If i had the money for new ....yes . For now a good used Sidelock will have to do . Especially in a 58 if in excellent condition . But i do like fast twist. I bet the 1:24 in 54 would shoot a 535 gr no excuse real well

No experience with that rifle or company for that matter. I never owned a Pedersoli. The twist would be interesting. What I always thought would make a great "Traditional Rifle" would be one of Doc White's 1-24 .504 barrels in a flintlock. That to me would be something. A conical shooter in a flintlock action.

My new custom .58 flintlock from TVM should be rolling in soon. When it does, I might be willing to sell my .58 caliber Green Mountain Barrel that fits a Renegade or .54 caliber T/C Hawken stock. That has a 1-70 twist and is a round ball shooter though. So it would not work as a fast twist conical rifle.

If you are looking for a bbl that mimics White BBL's. According to Doc White he now has Howard Kelly making his bbls.

Them Howard Kelly (aka webertown) barrels are supposed to be pretty top notch barrels from all the chatter I hear. Never used one myself. But I suppose if Doc is using him, then they are gonna be super good. I don't reckon he would have the man making barrels for him if he wasn't up to par.

I know Grouse had one made up in a .451 for his Lyman Deerstalker. I think he was pretty happy with it, I just don't know how much he shot it .

I might have to give him a call and see if he could make on that fits my Lyman Trade Rifle. That Lyman Flintlock is fast and sure. That would make a nice rifle in say a 26 inch barrel with that .504 1-24 twist.
