wouldnt use those conicals, ive read they have a hard time killing hogs and require 3 or 4 shots to put one down!

I am not shooting hogs i am shooting an elk
But let me get this straight . You are planning to shoot a bear with a .50 cal round ball but you are telling me that the 460 gr conical is a bad choice for an elk . Hmmm..,,,,,,

The CF is and does expand! They open to 40* before the CF part starts.

My vote goes to the white because it's just a better gun.

I wasn't aware of that. That changes things considerably . Here I have been thinking I couldn't use them for hunting. Thanks for letting me know.

LOL, It's okay Chet. You kind of have to figure where that info is coming from. You know, someone that thinks a bullet blowing up on entry is a GOOD performer! Just throw something shiny with CVA or Powerbelt on it in MD's direction and he will lose his attention on you

Yeps, the CF's, if you hit at a lower velocity than what they are rated to fracture at, will petal out and look a bit like a Barnes TX (sorta kinda). Another bullet you should take a long heavy look at Chet is the Blood Line. Them buggers perform beautifully! I'm glad Semi and Sabot turned me on to them.

Ironically, ironically, the conical load in the White, doesn't meet regulation for elk hunting. What the........... Whut?

Controlled Fracturing bullets meet the expanding criterion. They do, yes they do.
