Muzzleloader Pig
Over the past few months i've reduced the hog population at our deer lease. To accomplish that it was necessary to resort to cartridge guns. Killed a bunch of wild hogs, mostly pigs, with a rifled barrel pump shotgun and rifles.
A very big boar is coming to a feeder every evening. That hog has to be killed with a muzzleloader. Today I took the .50 caliber Encore along with my CZ 527 in .223.
Just after 8 pm in comes a boar that weighed about 160 pounds. The hog refused to turn broadside so I took a quartering away shot.
Range: About 80 yards
Gun: .50 Encore
Scope: 4X Zeiss Conquest
Bullet: 300 grain .452 XTP magnum
Powder: 140 grains of Black MZ
Primer: Winchester shotgun
At the shot the boar went down and kicked wildly. Was about to do a coup de gras with the .223 when he stopped kicking. The bullet exited under the boars chin.
