300g A-Frame--80g Blackhorn

buckhtr77 sent these bullet to shoot through the test. The range was 25 yard. Actual bullet weight was 300.6g.

Looks like a devastating bullet. The site says it's rated to open at 950fps. Pretty much perfect for ML or pistol hunting. May have to give those a swing in one of my .45s on hogs.

Excellent!!

It kinda looks like the lead is bonded to the jacket too. When ive done a slightly similar test with the Nosler Partition it usually loses the lead in the front half.

Ron ... so this is a "Swift" brand 300 grain hollow point revolver bullet? What diameter did it start as? Was it shot with a sabot or as a conical? What caliber rifle was it shot out of?

$1.08 a shot...ouch!! The bullet pics don't show up?? Sounds good tho..

Yes, but Swift say it is also a muzzle loader bullet.

What diameter did it start as?
0.452"

Was it shot with a sabot or as a conical? What caliber rifle was it shot out of?
It was shot using a short black sabot from a 50 caliber rifle.

It kinda looks like the lead is bonded to the jacket too.
Swift say it is a bonded bullet.

I did when I posted that first time, no go, but its working now...also saw them on MML, thanks for the test!

Gm54-120 05-28-2016 07:52 PM

Yeah it says the front half is bonded. All the 50cal Aframe ML bullets ive seen though are .429s.... Same design.

Outstanding. Thank you Ron.
