Another question for you Encore owners
I' ve noticed that the more I' ve shot my Encore, there' s a considerable amount of play with the barrel tightness. While aiming the gun, I can wiggle the barrel left and right. Is this normal? The other Encores I' ve held have a little bit of play, but not as much as mine. It seems to me that this could influence the gun' s accuracy once the shot is fired.
I' m attaching a picture to try and explain what I' m trying to say. Your thoughts and opinions are welcome... Thanks, Jim ![]() |

RE: Another question for you Encore owners
Jimbo, you could be experiencing an under sized hinge pin. This will cause movement in the barrell. In one of my other replies to you I mentioned getting a new trigger spring from Belllm. Well he also makes oversized hinge pins for the Encore. I get good groups with my orignal pin but have very slight movement. I plan on getting then new pins for myself. Here is the web site you can order parts for you Encore and get it in top notch shape.

RE: Another question for you Encore owners
Thanks fellas. After several months of frustration, we have finally gotten to the root of the problem. JCN, I' m going to contact Thompson Center and see if they' ll do anything to help me. If not, then I' ll contact Bellm and order an oversized hinge pin from him.

JimboHunter1 What for scope do you have on your encore? Do you plan on taking it off to put on other barrels?I have the QR rings on mine. Just put them on. |
RE: Another question for you Encore owners
Pinesap, I have the Simmons Aetec on my Encore, 2.8-10 X 44. It' s a great value for the money. I have Leupold quick disconnect scope mounts but I don' t plan to do much barrel swapping- it' s more fun to keep buying new guns!!! By the way, you don' t have to take your scope off to swap barrels. You should just keep the scope on each barrel so that it' s instantly sighted in when you put a new barrel on.
