Default Knight bushing plugs are underway

Lehigh type plugs with tungsten bushings instead of vent liners are not far away. These will be available for all Knight DISC based rifles such as Extremes, or Elites and Mountaineers with bare primer bolts or with Lehigh NFPJ conversions.

Plugs will be made from the same heat treated 17-4 SS as the original Lehigh plugs. Bestill Creations will be selling and final custom fitting these plugs per customers measurements or sold a bit cheaper without final fitting for the DIYers.

Part of the goal of this plug is a drop in that will not need any shimming for a slight crush on the primer of YOUR choice. Those that prefer a MAG primer will no longer need a shim for proper head space and a clean shooter.

These will be the same great quality as the original Lehighs because....Lehigh is making them for Bestill Creations and machined to his specs.

These bushings are the same as the Arrowhead Sporting Goods bushings being used in smokeless rifles. Its a tungsten carbide bushing and they should easily last well over 1000 shots with Blackhorn209. The bushing can easily be replaced if you ever manage to wear it out. Its held in the plug with a hex lock ring. The bushings are available at ASG or Hankins rifle if you do ever need one or want a spare for around $31.

I don't own any Knights, but was wondering if these bushings come out for cleaning as do the vent liners or is that a non issue?

I saw you're answer on MML but for those that don't belong there, might be good info!

Breach plugs that use tungsten bushings are normally cleaned without removing the bushing. Just clean out you flash channel like you normally would with the proper size drill bit.

The bushing is somewhat of a press fit and won't come out without a little effort. So its best to leave them alone. Bestill has put over 1000 BH209 shots through his rifles he shot at Friendship with no issues. His BH209 loads are far hotter than most peoples.

Bestill has the plugs ready for orders now. He will need you to take some measurements to get the correct fit for your Knight rifle. These are available for all DISC based bare primer rifles and bare primer Mountaineers.

Plugs are the same wonderful quality as the pre-Knight Lehigh plugs.

The new plug will be produced by Lehigh Defense which produces a total quality product. It will be made from17-4 stainless steel and heat treated plug will also utilize a tungsten carbide .031 bushing that will last well over 1,000 shots and beyond ..
Bushing is easily replaceable if ever needed .

Instructions for taking the measurements for a custom fit. He does offer fitting/installation for an additional fee or a few bucks cheaper if you would like to fit them yourself.

Production run of breech plug will be made with overall length in excess of installed length for custom fitment.

Rifle owner will need to supply me with breech plug face sealing surface to primer face sealing surface dimension. To obtain proper primer crush (headspace).

Step 1:
Choose your preferred primer and measure primer length with dial caliper. Example .299

Step2:
Install primer in existing breech plug and measure overall length from breech face to primer battery cup surface . Example 1.889

Step3:
Install breech plug in gun with same test primer . (Please remove firing pin assembly from bolt body for this step) next install bolt handle and close bolt completely.
Remove primer and measure primer length if primer is crushed by more than .002 example.297
You have the 3 dimensions in steps 1-2-3 to have your custom fit breech made and delivered .

If not proceed to step4.

Step 4:
Put primer back in bolt and take a feeler guage and place .002 feeler between rear of bolt and action where bolt handle contacts action when closed to headspace primer .
continue this process increasing feeler guage until you obtain.002 primer crush.

So now you will have possibly 4 measurements.

Example
step1 = .299
step2 = 1.889
step3 = .297 Done if .299 go to step 4
step4 = .005 feeler guage installed you obtain primer crush measurement .297
Done ready to order your custom fit knight bolt rifle breech plug.

I believe they are $80 and that is head spaced for your primer and rifle or $70 DIY. He will also do it all if you send him your rifle for an additional fee.

I don't have the measurements yet but how do you order one? 80 bucks seems reasonable.
