LK 93 barrel?

Hey guys just curious, I have an older Knight Bighorn .50 and was wondering if a LK 93 .54 barrel will work on it? Also what would the twist on the .54 be and do they shoot full bore bullets well? thanks

I am not sure if the barrel will work on a Bighorn. I know that the Bighorn and MK series are interchangeable. IIRC when I tried to swap and LK and MK something didn't work right. I have never shot full bore out of my .54 MK's. It drives tacks with sabots though. I'm not sure what the twist is on an LK in .54cal.

If it was me, I'd leave the Bighorn as is, and search out a complete .54 MK-85 ... you can find a nice used one for very reasonable. I've bought 2 over the years pretty darn cheap, both in excellent shape.

Oh, and the other thing that I'm not sure of... many of the older knight .54's came with 11/16" parts, rather than the newer 5/8". Meaning the BP and hammer would not swap from the bighorn if it was 11/16". Of course if you got a complete barrel with all the parts, it wouldn't matter. I still don't know if it will drop into a bighorn stock. I'm thinking not.

I have two very early .54s and the breech plugs and plungers are the same as the .50s. It is the newer ones that went to 11/16". I had one of those once too. I don't know why it wouldn't work in a Bighorn stock, the outside dimensions should be the same. A bighorn wasn't much more than an LK 93 or wolverine that came ready to use all 3 ignition types.

Yeah I'm not sure flounder. One of my MK's is a very late model and has 5/8". Out of about 10 that Ive owned, the only one I ever had with 11/16" was an old model blued .54 MK. ?? No clue when or on what models had the 11/16", but that one was older for sure.

Didn't the MK have an octagon receiver that fades to a round barrel? My Bighorn is a completely round barrel.

Yes. MK has square receiver. So do the BK series (black knight).

Numrich shows the same replacement .50 barrel, #1372120, for all of:

Bighorn
Bk92
Little horn
Lk-93
Ll-II
USAK

Suggests that .50 barrels are interchangeable across these models.

Anyone have a decent .50 barrel from any of these that you want to sell? Send a PM.
