If you' re using a non-magnum plastic sabot, don' t buy the FFF.

If you' re shooting a side-hammer, it will enhance ignition. Also in side-hammers, FFF 777 will seize-shut your cleanout screw & nipple unless you are checking/mechanically freeing them after every 3-4 shots.

I just re-ordered (4) cleanout (bolster) screws from Traditions.com... I keep forgetting to check them & have rounded-out the screwdriver fittings a couple of times already.

Triple Se7en, why would the fffg in T-7 be so quick to lock up the screws? I shot my rifle today using T-7 in ffg and shot 12 rounds without even swabbing the barrel. I never had a problem with removing the nipple when I cleaned it tonight. I admit I did not try to remove the clean out screw.

FFF is hotter than FF.

I' m not sure if my " seizing" problem is an isolated problem involving my (2) Traditions side-hammers. It could be their bolster/drum design is different than yours. It may also be an isolated problem with Splitfire nipples. Let me know if you have a difficult time removing your cleanout screw. You should always cleanout that area too after shooting.

I decided earlier today to combat that problem by replacing the (2) Splitfire nipples with CVA musket nipples on my Traditions. I also bought the Vorderlader-Zundhutchen (Dynamit Nobel) musket caps... we' ll see what happens. I was getting some hangfires after around 10 consecutive shots... hopefully the musket nipple/caps will correct that.

Yep... that plastic gas check could become a partially fire-broiled gas check using heavy magnum charges of 777 FFF.
