I'm enjoying it!!

I'm up in a tree with a Flintlock. The winds are 25 to 30mph and the temp is 25 not counting wind chill. I've shot plenty of Deer already this season but I guess another won't hurt. I don't even have jerky or smokes lol

Other then the wind chill, it looks like a great time to hunt. Good luck.

Geez...you got snow and everything. Here in my part of PA no snow and no deer. Been hunting every day this week only saw two tails.

Ya` look like you belong there Grouse. I'll be doing the same thing in the morning - sitting on a 20 ft. ladder stand in the piney woods. Last Sunday morning I sat on that ladder and saw at least a dozen does, a forkhorn, and a spike. I let them all walk (Didn't feel like dragging and cleaning anything but a nice buck ). But this weekend will be different. I have no meat yet and plan to rectify that. A fat doe will do just fine.

Other then the wind it was a pretty good afternoon. I'm sitting up there brain storming and dumping powder out of the pan every fifteen minutes or so. I came to a conclusion I'm not even gonna put powder in the pan when I'm 25 feet in the air. I wear my pan charger around my neck. I'm just gonna put powder in the pan when Deer are around. I see no reason to keep putting it in and dumping it out when on stand. What do you think about that??

I always figured if it's dry enough and loose enough that it can be easily dumped out, it doesn't need to be dumped out.

Grouse45 01-01-2016 05:04 PM

I shoot right handed, so I just wear a thin liner glove on my right hand.
