I thought you hunted the rifle season so you could use sabots and scope?

That's the biggest problem for muzzy season. Especially, for an old goat like me who hunts alone.
I find as I get older I need to hunt closer and closer to my Jeep to have a chance of saving the meat. |

Yes I do. They wanna try drawing a tag in April, and see if it's more of a challenge in the rut I guess?? More or less something different. I'm really not in favor of it cause of the heat. I'm afraid we could risk meat as high as we go on foot.

Going to have to hunt horseback next year myself wherever I end up Elk hunting. Knee wont hold up to long hikes from what the doc is telling me. Maybe a mile or 2 over rough terrain but not with a pack or humping meat out. Unless I take a couple of my boys with me to pack :D

You may have to hunt higher than you're used to in muzzy season.
|
that or in deep timber where its cool and may hold water. Thats were we found elk this year during muzzy season.
|
That's another thing I'm afraid of🎯
