super_hunt54, OldBob47, The acceleration of gravity on ALL objects on the earth surface, is 32 feet per second per second. This is true for arrows or bullets. This number is easily calculated without knowing the Gravitational Constant, by finding the ratio of the Weight of an object to its mass.

Ding Ding Ding and the prize goes to Ron!!! Very good young man! Bob, take notes, Ron backs his statements up with KNOWN facts in evidence and also with correct information through both education AND experience.

I'm sure. As does the profile of the projectile (the amount of surface available).
Ron I hope you didn't send OldBob off running with his tail between his legs for coming off with another idiotic post?? His post are surprisingly good humorous reading!

No need for any insulting. Just stay with the facts.

Some call it being stubborn, but it's self-preservation. Smarter if you ask me. Mules are much healthier than horses, more sure footing in bad terrain, and aren't fussy what they eat.

Best part is you get to look at those big ears when you ride them.
Pete,

I ain't gonna get on one of those darn things! Motorcycles are bad enough. I'm pretty careful. I just wondered if they were any different in the barn.

SH54,

Perhaps, if Ron's amenable, you should email him for a more detailed explanation. He just said what I have been trying to say, maybe imperfectly.

While your at it, ask him to explain why the trajectory of the arrow is so much worse than the rifle. Hint: FPS is the determining factor.
