Since CVA sells a nitride BH 209 breech plug, I incorrectly assumed the black stock breech plug that came with the nitride rifles was also nitride treated. My bad. Have you ever tried to machine a nitride breech plug? I am curious about how much harder they actually are?

Since a lot of tooling bits and such that are nitride coated last about 3 times longer than their non-coated counterparts then I would guess it's about 3 times harder to mill/cut anything nitride coated. Now, if you are using a nitride coated bit then I would have to imagine it would still be harder than an non-coated plug, it wouldn't be 3 times harder though.

I just put a new Optima V2 in the safe and will have another QRBP for you to drill out for me, next year. That BP looks like its just painted black to match the receiver. I do like the looks of the nitride barrel so far.
