A little scouting trip today

Today I went out with my bro in law, his grand kids and my brother into the mountains about an hour west of me. Love this place! We were hoping to see the leaves changing but boy, we were about a month to late!

I found a nice looking grouse hunting area and no one was up there due to the snow. Saw about 12 fish in on of the lakes we stopped by along the way. Water is so clear you just wanted to dunk your head in and drink your fill. I felt like I was in the movie Jeremiah Johnson it was so pretty and pure.

Just some pics I thought you all might enjoy. Coming down into one pond area I found a track in the snow and towards the bottom in the mud, it was a pretty darn good size bear track!

Now this was really messed up! Hunter orange moss on the side of this rock! You can still see the yellowish green moss that hasn't turned yet.

Nice pics ...Spanish Peaks area? Just got back from a hunt and stayed in Del Norte and hunted the San Juans. Got too much snow to get up to the high country mid week after a bunch of rain early on.. Saw more hunters than elk.

What is the make & model of your camera Jon? Please tell me it's affordable to the average Joe's most-times, almost empty wallet?

What he said.

I think at the time it was around $150 a couple years back.

When Canon was closing out the A1400 they were selling them direct for about $100. Its been awhile but i think i passed on one because of the MOV video format it uses. My older video editing and transcoding software was a bit picky. I never did care for MOV vs MPEG compression.

Not sure though that may have been a Kodak i passed on.
