Include some as-cast/unsized ones also. That might be just the ticket lubed with Lee's Liquid Alox, or even bore butter.

Not mine - mine are 300 gr. and I have 3 of them. Yeah the original military load was .45 cal - 70 gr of BP and 405 gr bullet. But some of the old buff hunters sometimes used 500 gr and heavier slugs.

In any event, I have elected to stick with the 200 gr .401" XTPs with a Harvester blue CR sabot over 70 gr of FFFg. This load has proven to be the most accurate out of this rifle and has proven itself on deer to me.

Ed

I appreciate the offer Ed but I think I will just stick with what is now working for me. I plan on giving this rifle to my grandson soon.

Ed, the ugly truth is our man Bronko is getting a bit long in the tooth and can't take those big loads any longer. :D

Long in the tooth and short on patience is a common affliction among us old farts (Semi you are included in that since your spring chicken days flew the coop years ago!) :D

LMAO - That's real funny Ed. But what's really funny is I've never seen a deer laugh at them!
As for your bullets - maybe in the future when my present supply of puny bullets is exhausted I may get myself a .453" sizing die and purchase some of your 465s and size them myself. I'd imagine based on your experience they should come out to .4525" which I think would be perfect for my bore.
Like Semi said, my bore is bigger than his. (like everything else of mine).

Ed's 350gr HPs (sized correctly) and 70gr of real black should be a fantastic load for a 1-30.

I do know of a source for fairly cheap custom sized dies. $25
