1 down, 2 to go
My brother in law filled his tag this evening. Robert and I finally spotted a buck and got to within 227 yards before the group took off. Not sure how much more walking I can do as my leg and lower back are flaring back up.
My brother in law dropped another dandy with the Strikerfire a 250gr Thor time time around. If you remember the last one he got 2 years ago. This new one dwarfs it :jaw: He got him at 90 yards when we was going after a 2x2 and the big dude jumped up out of the sun flowers. No picture yet as I am dead tired, but heres a hint. WIDE, Tall, thick and a 5x7 :D and we actually fit it on the jeeps luggage rack we installed. |
Congrats to your brother in-law. My Philosyphy is it's better to be lucky than good any day. When your rested up let us hear the story and see those pics.

Congrats to your brother-in-law. Hang in there.

Congrats to your brother in law. Take it easy and rest that back.
|
Congrats! Sounds like a beast. Can't wait to see some pics.

We need a picture. Sounds like a nice one

Sounds nice. Sorry about the back. Nothing worse than back problems. Work on your core strength. Push-ups, rowing, whatever (I hate sit-ups).
|
Another teaser...
27 3/4" wide :D :D |
my buck is down! That 338gr Powerbelt Platinum dropped him in his tracks.
|
Congrats, ready for the pics and the stories of both deer.
|
my buck is down! Congrats on the buck. |
Congrats, still waiting on those pics.

I heard that exact "2 Down - 1 To Go" last December.
Both of my hunting partners harvested at least one deer last hunting season. I was shut-out and both of those fellas kept letting me know their success - and my lack of it..... just kept rubbing it-in, like pouring salt on a wound. :s8: |
We are a couple lucky SOB's! 20 some odd minutes of legal shooting light and Robert got his first ever deer at 131 yards with a CVA Wolf, 80gr Blackhorn209 and a 260gr PT Gold through the next as he was looking back at us.
Almost a 2x2 but more like a 2x 1/2 LOL. HEAVY body however! We danced around, hugged, smacked each others backs. One heck of a stressful hunt, but with the cold weather moving it, it helped us greatly. |
