2 down, 1 to go!

While it rained, it was fairly dry under the roof for a while. We got the Strikerfire dialed in out to 200 and I got the Accura v2 dialed in as well.

I got the 58cal Hawken very close to 100 yards but the dark sky and rain really prevented me from REALLY dialing it in. Im going back to the Whittington Center tomorrow with Robert, the young guy I am taking muzzle loading on his first hunt Sept 27th. He'll do his best to fine tune the Wolf I am loaning to him.

The .58 was doing extremely well with the JSG Super Powder set at 90 grains volume with a .015" patch and .570" round ball at 100 yards. More dialing in with her tomorrow if its a nice day. No swabbing was needed either.

My heart tells me to go with the .58 this season but my testing side wants to use the Accura with a special bullet that needs testing.

Well my brother in law wanted to use the thors so he resighted in the rifle. He ran some foaming bore cleaner this morning around 3am because he couldnt sleep and said yellow plastic ran out after 30 minutes. The bore shined like a mirror afterward.

First shot on a clean bore at 100 yards is on the left and the next 3 are pretty easy to figure out. 100gr blackhorn209 and federal 209a primers. He said he found that if he pressed the cheek hard on the stock it seemed to move his shots around. Not 100% sure on this one but it could just be moving the shots around under recoil.

According to the comb height, if you press harder on the comb it will offset your camber a bit. That will change your right left a bit as well as elevation to the right or left (depending on which hand you are shooting) Could be that he doesn't see the camber shift which would be obvious in a scope but not so much (depending on how much cant) with opens. Looks like he overcame the issue though. Good shooting.

Maybe that's why on the range, as I tire, I start to change my grip maybe ... would that account for the conical bullets to start to make a straight horizontal line?

Could be cayu. Grip and mounting angle changes, basically your "form", can be just as detrimental to your results as they can be in archery. Although vertical stringing is usually associated with barrel heat or fouling it COULD be your changing grip angle which will cause unseen changes in site line with opens.
