It made it ! Hurray

The Omega arrived today :) so i plan on taking it out for a test run tomorrow and see how i can do at 500 yards with it . I figure there is no need to post pics since everyone has seen it in the other thread
95 gr by weight of Blackhorn , 270 emax , .060 veggie wad , its zeroed at 100 so it should be 17.5 moa at 500 according to saturdays match at friendship with that load and range .

ronlaughlin 08-27-2015 04:41 PM

Wow......17.5 moa for 500 yard is amazing!

I agree. Bestill sent me the figures from his competition , which makes it a nice starting point . 200 yds 3moa
300 yds 7 moa
400 yds 11.5 moa
500 yds 17.5 moa
So that makes it a lot easier to just start shooting instead of spending time working that all out myself :).

ronlaughlin 08-27-2015 04:58 PM

....and plus you aren't smart enough to work it out all by yer self.

ronlaughlin 08-27-2015 05:15 PM

If it shoots as good as it looks, you got a winner for sure:party0005:

What is the velocity of that load?

super_hunt54 08-27-2015 06:52 PM

My phone is retarded so I have to do everything in my head or use a cheat sheet! Good thing I keep my reading specks for the cheat sheet! :s2:

It should be between 2250 and 2300 . I havent got a chrono reading but i will ask tomorrow . Bestill should know exactly since he shot it at thematch . . I know with 105 gr by weight it is 2450 .

Gm54-120 08-28-2015 05:12 AM

Hang on tight. :D

Exactly WVH! Unless I have that gorgeous Omega ML locked into a vice, I wouldn't be hooting and hollering with joy after squeezing the trigger using 105 gr. weighted BH209...... ouchie-ouchie!

I use 90 grains volume of BH209 (somewhere around 63-64 weighted) with a 200 grain bullet - shoot off-hand and and my shoulder has boat-loads of non-jolting fun, even after 20 rounds.

We are all different creatures of this earth. What creates a smile on one is a grimace to another. I suppose it's the best way to keep the earth's inhabitants in-balance with one another.

I can tell you a 300gr bullet say-bo-less and 84gr by weight of BH209 is pretty rough in a normal weight 45cal ML. Ive shot as much as 140gr by volume in a heavy build but prefer to stay at no more than 91gr by weight.

My Pacnor 45 is so heavy it really helps with the recoil but the SuperDisc is kinda rough. Extended eye relief is a must in the lighter rifles with large BH209 loads. My Swift Premier 2x7x40WA nearly gets me every time i shoot a highend say-bo-less load. I cant imagine using a 3" relief scope on the DISC with similar BH209 loads.

I could imagine it. I could imagine the stitches in your eyebrow, the laughter from your buddies at the range, the anger at the rifle when you know deep down it was your own stupidity that caused it in the first place, the wife saying those exact same words while doing her best not to bust a gut laughing. Sound like I been there? You betcha! :s2:
