RMAC .22 caliber Turret rifle...
I have a RMAC .22 caliber Turret rifle that I got as a Christmas present when I was 14 or 15 years old... that would have been in 1973 or 74... I am 56 years old now... For the first year or two that I had it I shot the gun a lot... I shot it at birds, ground squirrels, and rock chucks... And a few other occasional varmints.
I lost the directions somewhere in all of the moving around is done... But the gun itself is still in extremely good condition... It is just missing the front sight. Can anybody tell me a little info about the gun like what kind of powder should be used with it.. Or what kind of ammo to use and if ammunition is still available... Can you still buy the little paper caps that are used to set off the powder charge. What is this gun worth today in would anybody be interested in possibly buying it for me for a fair price? |
They used a roll cap similar to old toy cap guns. #4 buckshot and 5gr of 4FG powder according to a Google search for "Rock Mountain Arms turret rifle."

I saw one on an online auction site about a year ago listed as "very good" condition and they wanted somewhere around the $200 mark for it. Whether or not that they're actually worth that... I don't know. BPS |
Thanks for the answers in the help... I didn't even know that my father saved this gun for me until a couple years ago... The directions got lost a long time ago and I couldn't remember exactly what kind of black powder I was supposed to use... maybe one of these days I'll buy some in a little bit of ammo for it and go out and see if it still shoots... I know I had fun with it when I was a kid... I heard that they're pretty rare... I know they made him and other calibers but I know the 22 caliber is a hard to come by nowadays

Hey I just ran across you post and I know it's several months old, but was wondering if you still had rifle, and if so might you still be interested in parting with it?
Thanks! |
