Knight 185g Bloodline
 

Chaded sent some of the 185g Bloodline to shoot through the carpet, shelving, and water jugs. The jugs were out 25 yard, and the powder charge was 80g Blackhorn.













The bullet was found in the last jug. It weighs 137.8g. It left a hole at the back of the last jug, but didn't quite exit. The first two jugs were shredded.

The 185gr Lehigh/Bloodline is my favorite light weight because it shoots so well in a the common 1-28 twist 45cals. IIRC it is also the only Lehigh bullet ive personally witnessed in action.

It performed exactly as advertised. I have yet to see a negative review of this bullet on actual harvests. The track record appears to be spotless.

Wow.... impressive! I'll bet those edges will draw blood too. This has to be in the Top-5 of your tests here.

I would suggest to you that new Lehigh 40x185gr. CF is probably the better bullet. The BC has been improved from .140 of the Bloodline to .220 for the CF bullet.

I think the results of the two might be very close but the improved BC will provide a better flight path and more retained energy.

Smaller hollow-point for improvement?
Can these brass bullets be given a boat-tail?

T7, I have found that boat tails most times tend to not shoot as well as flat based out of a ML'er. AT least not out of either of mine. No clue as to why because probably 85% of my CF bullets are of a boat tail design and ALL of my longer range CF bullets are BT. Never could get a good group at 150 with any so far with them. Last ones I tried were the Barnes .451 290 grainers. They flew okay as far as grouping at around 6 inches at 150 for hunting but considering the flat based version grouped at just under an inch and a half,,,,, well nothing else needed on that front huh.

You are correct, boat tails seem to cause more problems then worth. And usually most blow the sabot much easier. I tested some boat tails way back for Lehigh with no advantages at all. I'm glad he chose not to use them.

Did Ron test the 185CF bullet?
