Good Price on Some Hornady Great Plains Bullets
Lot of lead for 8 bucks.
I sold 25 boxes of Hornady 410 gr 50 cal last fall for 10.00 per box.
Anyone ever try them out?
That is a super good price for those bullets, shipping included.
Bought a bunch of 385 grain Great Plains bullets a few years ago. They shoot very well in my Encore: Better than the 370 grain Maxi-Balls. In my New Englander they shoot better than i can. |
I've tried the GP bullet. They run on the big side, and are a bear to load in some guns.
Kind of the opposite of maxi-balls which are too easy loading in some guns |
Too bad they aren't selling the .54s on sale. They don't even list them on their site. I am using them in my Knight.
Muley,Falcon, I usually load the Orange MMP (HPH) sabots. I do believe they are made for medium bore sizes. I use a TC Pro Hunter .50 cal. Think they may be too big for it? I wouldn't mind trying them out but I hate wasting money. Can't stand a stuffer I have to dang near stand on to get it down the barrel.
I have a feeling they'll be tight.
Have you tried the NoExcuses bullets? They're $25 for a box of 50. They load really nice, and you won't find a better lead conical. A little heavier than the the Hornady's, but they put the smack on any game. http://www.muzzleloading-bullets.com/ |
