OT more knives
 

Here are the last ones I made.
My last post was before Christmas and I wasn't sure which one my son would take. He picked this one.



After that one I made a fillet knife for my Camper.




After that one I made one just for me.










I can't wait to shoot a deer with my Hawken next year and work on that buck with that last knife. Maybe I will call it a Idaho Hawken Knife.

My favorite looker is that 2nd one pictured.... filet knife.

For hunting, I buy Kershaw and nothing else.

I used to like Kershaw knives before they got in bed with China... now I won't buy them. I know it's hard to get around it, but after my losing two manufacturing jobs to outsourcing and my wife losing hers for the same reason, makes one bitter towards companies that sell out in the name of corporate greed.

I don't know for fact if all of their knives are made in China, but the models we carry in the store I work for are made in China and it's clearly stated so on the packaging. Darn shame...

That's definitely a sweet looking filet knife. Looks very much like a US made Imperial filet knife I had when I was young that had white Delrin (I believe) handles. I loved that knife but like a dumb@$$, I left it laying on a picnic table at a State park we were camping at and drove away. Ten miles down the road I realized what I did and went back, you guessed it... GONE!!!

Where did you say that the kits you're building these came from?

The company is called Jantz. These weren't kits but you can get kits from them. The first two I got were kit's. The kits don't give you the option on wood and pins. So I have been just ordering the blades and wood. I make the pins my self. Jantz has both foreign and domestic blades, so you have to ask or read carefully.
