CCI magnum primers

Looking for CCI magnum primers for my TC and no one has them in stock. Anyone know where I can get some? Would T7 primers work with BH209?

Not recommended. Have you tried Walmart for the CCI-Mags?
If unsuccessful, try to find Federal 209A or Remington 209-4 instead.

T7 primers won't ignite Blackhorn in my Omega. Any standard shotgun primer works good. The W209 are the longest, so they make the best seal, and so the least amount of blow back.

Rem 209-4's are very cool primer intended for 410 shotgun shells - probably would not be reliable with BH either. In fact I am not sure you can even buy them anymore.

OK....... good to know.
Guess I'll use them in the Omega and save my Federal 209A's for the Vision.

Gonna take me a while to burn nine boxes of those Rems..... lol:violin:

Those 209-4's are great primers for T7 - I really like them. I am wondering which BP you get or have got in your Vision. They made several different versions of them. I modified several of them for BH.

I am hoping that you did not get the one with the magnet in it...

I still haven't removed it from the shipping box. I will do an introductory cleanup tomorrow.
What I do know is I was forced to purchase the Red Plastic Jacket model. It was the only type available at purchase.

How do I give it a draw-type magnet test ... with a small screwdriver end perhaps? Their website shows a bare primer breechplug available.

OK if it is a FPJ (Red Plastic Jacket) not a problem no magnet - but it will be dirty in the breech. And not the most reliabe way to shoot or ignight BH. You can get a NFPJ from Knight.

Your link is correct. If you get one when you get let me know and we will see which one you got...

Mike

Currently shooting real black-only (Schuetzen FFF). Discontinued my use of 777. Got tired of ratchets and sockets to avoid seized plugs and carrying a ton of patches for the crud rings. If I try anything new this spring, it'll be Pyrodex P.

I like the red jacket concept. Hoping to keep the hinge pin area of the break-action breech clean, with very little primer residue. Thinking of switching to the longer and more cleaner Winchester 209 primers for both MLs (Omega also).

If I reconsider and invest in BH 209 and a bare primer breechplug, I'll email you for shipping and modification, if you're still interested. In the meantime, if you read me talking to BH 209 users, I'm just gathering more information on it. I'm keeping that BH 209 window open for the future. For now, I'll be looking for Knight rifle owners using BH 209 and how each party interacts together, prior to spending $42 + tax on a small bottle of BH 209 , another $20 + shipping on a bare breechplug, then probably $25 or more, to have you modify it.

Happy New Year Mike!
