Should I try a heavier bullet?

I am going to PA to bowhunt during the muzzleloader season and may take my Knight Wolverine since I have two doe tags. I have done a little reading on here and it seems that a lot of you are shooting heavier bullets than I am used to. I am currently shooting 100 grain pyrodex pellets with a 240 grain hornady sabot. I haven' t shot yet this year but am wondering if I should try a heavier bullet?

Like trac209 alluded to, you might want to shoot your gun and record some groups this year before considering doing much of anything else.

That 240 gr. will do the job. Good luck on your hunt.

I agree, if it shoots that load fine, then I would not mess with it. I am sure that the round you are shooting fine will take a deer down. You might want to shoot a few groups to see if the gun is still dead on, and try some other loads. But I would stick with what the gun likes. Good Luck this year.

I will definently shoot it and make sure it is on before hunting with it.

I shoot the 300 grain Hornady XTP but that is just because its the first thing I tried in it and it shot 1 1/2- 3 inch groups at 100 yards everytime.

Not sure, the more I think about it the more I just want to stick with the bow all week.

I think PA is flintlock only during the muzzleloader season. You may want to check before taking your wolverine.
