That's my point.

As long as the brake is installed, its no worse than the "06". Removing 30% of the recoil is a SIGNIFICENT reduction, thus the brake. If one wants a brake, I would suggest one that could be removed for cleaning and NOT in the barrel itself.

I know. I put a Vais brake on a .270, and it was sweet to shoot. No louder than without the brake for the shooter, but of course louder for those standing next to me.

I was having cheek problems at the time. That was the need for a brake on a .270 which normally wouldn't need one.

One of the guys we regular used to hunt with just had to put a brake on his 22-250 so he could see the hit. Now no one wants to be around him any where hunting or the range.
I personal dislike all the back blast ( I can handle the recoil better than the noise.) so when I wanted to do some thing with my Winchester 300 Mag I spent a couple days on the pistol range talking to guys who used the Mag Na Port system.
I had my 300 done and like the way the blast goes up and out both sides.

None of my ML's need any thing to be able to shoot them except the powder and bullets.

:D Al

No back blast with the Vais brake. I noticed no difference in noise with it on, or screwed off.
