That's sad. Apples on the ground and that deer stuck its head in the crotch of that tree.

No probably shook the apples off the tree trying to get unstuck.....

Hope the fawn is old enough to make it. Nature is cruel sometimes

It always amazes me when I see some of the things that animals can get into. A lot of it is man made of course. Jars are the worst. But I don't recall ever seeing a deer sticking its head in the tree like that.

I would guess it reared up on its hind legs trying to reach an apple, and when it came down, it managed to get stuck in the fork of that tree. It probably thrashed about trying to get loose and that is why the apples fell down on the ground. Then it probably broke its neck or suffocated. That sure is a shame to see something like that.

Looks like she was nursing. I hope the babies were old enough to survive on their own.

I wonder if someone saved the meat.

Had a doe get stuck in a woven wire fence years ago way back in a hay field during the winter. It died in that fence so yes nature is cruel some times. Shame no one noticed it and got it loose.

I disagree on the jars being the worst. While they are bad what slob fisher men women leave laying on the ground and in the water is far worse way I see it. Slobs should dispose of monofilament properly where no animal will get tangled in it. Best to melt it into a lump then put in the trash.

Rings that hold pop and beer is also bad for the wild life.

Geeeez what a way to go. BTW I believe those are pears not apples.. :) Look at the ones in the tree above and right of the deer.
