We have a lot of Ravens (much bigger then crows) up where I live. You could always find a place to zip tie them down. |

They couldn't haul away one like in the OP's post could they?
You could always find a place to zip tie them down. The roof is not an option in my hood. I know the Mrs. Would frown on that move. |

Speaking of a crow's CAW. The other day I was watching a bunch of crows picking over some roadkill on HWY 43 near my hunting lease.
One of the crows stayed in a tree top next to the highway as a lookout. Every time a car approached it would let out a loud "CAW" and the crows would scatter without harm. But, then tragedy struck and every crow on the highway was killed. ![]() Evidently the lookout was unable to say "TRUCK". I don't know if I've ever seem a crow get hit by a vehicle. They are clever birds. |

Maybe there aren't many trucks driving the roads around your place; just caws. |
The bugs that many Taxidermists use is a black carpet beetle. A dermestid.
The larvae eat almost any type of animal product such as leather, wool, silk, feathers, hair, dried meat, dead insects, and even dried plant material. And do note the Dermestid beetle and larvae can be very bothersome with head mounts. They can destroy them.... FWIW JW |
