Showing off my Encore
Haven't posted much for awhile. Man things get busy with 3 kids in school. Anyway, a few years ago I had a Pro Hunter that ended up being sold due to some medical bills. Long story short, for my birthday this year my wife insisted that I build my "ultimate muzzleloader" like I had talked about doing before. Got it done a couple weeks ago. Shot it for one sessions but had some scope issues so had to cut it short. I'm hoping to get out in a couple days to try again.

That is one nice looking rifle! what projectile sabot combination are you shooting? |
I just put one together also. Mine is a 45 with a Bergara barrel I gathered the pieces over the winter and am getting ready to sight it in. I used the pro hunter stock and forearm and a Nikon 4 x 14 scope.

Please do not post any more photos like that, my keyboard is ruined from all the drool:throw:
Very nice looking rifle :cool2:, I sure hope some range reports follow! |
So far I have some 200 gr. SST's and I just ordered some 200 gr. XTP's now that a couple places have them in stock. I have both Harvesters and MMP sabots.
For now it's going to run on smokeless powder, but honestly once time frees up and the kids are in school, I will probably switch back to BP subs and experiment with sabotless. |
a very nice looking rifle. If I had one like that, I think I might even go all out on a scope of real quality. Very nice... glad you got it.
