That would make a good deer caliber. And if you can shoot out to 200 yards you should be all set.
I went to shoot today, got the rest out, the bag, was taking the cover off the rest table and felt rain drops. Since I was going to shoot my custom rifle I said.. to heck with it. And put every thing away and the cover back on the table. Went into the garage to work on some projects and noticed.. no rain on the steel roof. Walked out and the sun was just shining and a nice blue sky. Just my luck. So I finished the project I was working on instead. |
I like the looks of the wood and blues steel also.
Looks like slobs also shoot there. We had a old gravel pit we used to shoot in before I bought this place with the range in the back yard. Word got out about shooting there with no fee like the state range still was room for every one most of the time. Then the slobs moved in. The land owner then posted the property, no more shooting there. :D Al |
Nice rifle. I like the classic look of that wood stock too.

The FS can not afford to pick up each month and they do not have the funds to close it either. I would suspect the next timber sale in the area - closure will be written into the contract. I usually take a big plastic bag with me and fill that up each time I go but it is so bad now one bag does not even dent the collection. |
Shame there seems to be so many slobs in the shooting world. Our closure happened in the late 1960's so slobs have been about for some time.
We have a state range about 6 miles away that is pretty nice with cement shooting benches and sand filled bags for your use. When I first moved here in 1986 you could go there any time. Slobs trashed the place so now you can only get in certain days when the range master is there. I was surprised that the slobs still try to get away with leaving a mess. Any way that is a good looking knight, I like the snow camo also but am not to crazy about the look of a thumb hole stock. :D Al |
