HIP REPLACEMENT part 2

Well I'm home!!! I went in yesterday at 0530 and was in the operating room by 0700. It took only 1 hour. I spent the night and was released by 1230 hours. It is good to be home.

I am totally surprised at the level of no real pain. There is a lot of soreness, but virtually no pain. They had me up and walking about one and a half hours after getting to my room. I was surprised to know I was putting full weight on that leg. Amazing!!!

They have me on a walker for the next week or two and then a cane. I am also pleasantly surprised to realize my limp is gone!!!

Ah, life is good. Now it is time to cash in on my wife taking care of me for the next week. She is a good woman and that is another story of how lucky this guy is!!!

Dang!! You are doing good, Mom was in a nursing home for 2 and a half weeks going through rehab...

Of course Mom was 88... :)

Glad everything went well!!!

When I took my father in for his hip replacement it was fast. The second day, he was up with a walker going all over the house and he too reported no pain, just sore, like he bruised it.

I am glad to hear your surgery went so well. But take it easy and work in slow. No use running track yet. I am contemplating a knee and ankle replacement. As many years ago I was busted up pretty good, but I refused to have parts so now in old age the old bones are really getting even with me.

Did they do both the ball and socket?

I'm due for one soon. Glad the technology is that advanced now.

Hey Semi, I got my honey bee caring for me. She's a great at playing nurse. Maybe I can get her to give me a sponge wash!!! He, he, he!

Thare's nothing like a caring woman rafsob. You're a lucky man. As for sponge baths, she might rather hose you down with cold water.

You'll have PT?

From personal experience (knee)-don't get ahead of schedule, stay with the program.
