Maxiball BC?

Anybody know the BC for the .50 cal 370gr maxi?

Muley Hunter 05-07-2014 11:20 AM

Give it your best guess?

I'm saying .150?

I really would not have a clue... does T/C list anything for it?

Not that I could find.

I ran the numbers thru this site http://gundata.org/ballistic-coefficient-calculator/
and used the round nose as the closest design and got .346 what I would consider high for that bullet.

That would be nice, but i'm sure it's not close to that.

Lyman lists the .54 cal 430gr at .160. They list the .50 at .95 which has to be a mistake for the 370gr. Hell, a round ball is .70

The .54 is heavier than the .50 which should give it a better BC, but it bigger in diameter which takes BC away.

That's why I guess they may be similar. I guessed the .50 at .150.

BC and round balls and maxi balls don't mix... :)

Muley Hunter 05-07-2014 04:11 PM

Yeah, I know. I'm just trying to figure out the down range ballistics on the maxi.

It comes out ok with a BC of .150, but I don't know if it's right.

Maybe i'll call TC tomorrow.

Just giving you chit!!! :)

No problem with that, but give me the BC too. :p
