It's no wonder nobody knows the BC.

I just called TC, and they don't even know.

Well I do not remember where I got it but in my notes I have it listed as .210

Muley Hunter 05-11-2014 05:34 AM

Wow! Do you think it's that high?

I'm surprised how flat it's shooting to 100yds, so it could be.

Maxi BC

I've seen several posts that suggest it's 0.95 or 0.97. Similar for the 320 grain REAL, which was published in "Black Powder Journal". This does seem low compared to other bullets of similar weight. The better ones seem to have shallower grooves or knurling. Maybe this is more flight friendly than the Maxi's wide deep grooves. Attached is what I've gathered.

I have no idea. But after using them in a .50 cal several years ago and harvesting a couple deer with them at <75 yards, I think the BC is somewhere between "Ooomph and WTH hit me"!

I don't have MS word to read that.

I've also seen .095 published in Lyman, and it's what Toby gives which i'm sure he got from Lyman.

It makes no sense since a RB is .70 at only 177gr. I think the .095 is for the 320gr maxiball. Even that seems low.

The .54 430gr maxiball is .160. The 370gr .50 has to be similar.

Depressing if it's .097.

NoExcuses looks good at .202, but the recoil is kind of ugly. I have a box of them. Not fond of the lube either.

This is for black bear, but some of our bears get pretty big.

The 370 maxiball has plenty of BC and whatever else you need to take any bear in Colorado. If it shoots well in your gun, it will be fine for you. They have taken plenty of elk.

Muley Hunter 05-12-2014 05:10 PM

Yeah, I shouldn't worry about it. I'm sure any shot I get on a bear will be close.
