Cylinder rotation

Okay...I just took apart my pietta, cleaned and reassembled. The hammer cocks oks but when I squeeze the trigger and lower the hammer with my thumb I see the cylinder turn the wrong direction, it's turning counter-clock wise.

What did I do wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Well...I learned myself something...make sure the trigger spring screw is snug...I guess I put it in but didn't tighten it up enough. It helps to have that screw snug as it works to hold the cylinder stop in correctly. Stupid me.

You made me go check my Pietta and the cylinder turns clockwise. Did that trigger screw fix the problem?

Yes, it fixed the problem. The cylinder stop bolt is pushed into place by one of two fingers on that leaf spring. The other finger provides tension on the trigger. Because the bolt needs to respond up and down relative to what the trigger does when the gun is cocked, it makes sense to accommodate both with the same energy source, which is in effect modified by the working of the trigger.

So, the failure, on my part, to tighten that screw would cause the pressure on the bolt to be inconsistent with what is required by the system mechanics.
