UMag First, Thunderbolt second, Super 91 third, Price Good Luck. I paid good money when I bought them, I currently own 6. After shooting them, A UMag in mint condition I'd pay 450.00 for without thinking twice.

I bought a Super 91. The only negative I've read about it is that the lug is somewhat thin and if you shoot a heavy powder load from a lead sled, you could bend the lug. I was also interested in the 97 Whitetail as I'd read is is somewhat of an upgrade with the bigger lug and two bolt connection instead of 1.
Any White seems rather hard to find as you just don't see a lot of them for sale.

The Super 91 has a two lug system similar to the model 97. It is the G Series rifles that don't have the rear lug screw going through the trigger guard. A proper bedding job will benefit all the models.

Sure wish White would get back in the game..

Perhaps I'm not using the right term as my Super 91 is a W series and has 2 screws that secure the gun to the stock but the thin blade (that I'm calling the lug) is not as stout as in the model 97 that I saw photos of. I have seen a post specifically on this type of setup that this blade can be bent if shooting heavy powders especially with a lead sled setup. So what is the blade called that embeds into the stock....I thought that was the lug?

I get what you're saying now. That recoil blade between the reciever and the barrel can bend. On the model 97s the barrel and reciever are one piece. If you do a good solid bedding job on your Super 91 I don't think you'll have a problem.
I agree with you about avoiding that lead sled also.

Back in the 1990's I was in Jays Sporting Goods in Michigan, there was a White with a black synthetic stock, but it was a Mannlicher type. Never saw anything like it before or since. Should have bought it. Anyone else seen one like it?

That sounds like the Super Safari.
I am lucky enough to own one
