Bullet advice
I'm looking for suggestions on low cost bullets for plinking with my .45 cal inline. I was looking at crush rib blue sabots from Harvester Muzzleloading which accept a 40 cal bullet. Any suggestions what bullet I might use? Anyone out there use a patched ball on an inline for short range shooting?

Hornady 10 mm ( .40 cal ) XTP's. $22 / 100 in the 180 or 200 grain weights. Really, any 10 mm pistol bullet you can find in stock. Find in stock is tough part.

FYI. I prefer the smooth blue over the CR's for a tighter fit. Depends on the bore of your 45.

As was already mentioned, any .40/10mm pistol bullet will work, though for the speeds you're likely going to run them you'll want 180 gr. or heavier. The problem now is finding something.

I've always used the 200 grain XTP for plinking and hunting both, with either the tan MMP sabot or Harvestor light blue. Great bullet, affordable.... if you can find them right now.

45 plinker
My 1-30 Green Mtn. 45 barrel dose very very well with a .440 RB and pillow ticking from Wallmart. I use a wool felt wad under it and 25 to 30gr of T7.

I also shoot the 200 gr xtp out of my .45. But for plinking there is no reason why you couldn't shoot a round ball and a light charge. Accuracy wouldn't be the best but you would still have fun.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to give roundballs a try, as well as looking for that one odd shop that just happens to stock 10mm bullets.
