Looking for a good PB barrel for my 54cal T/C. Any ideas?

Rebstud,

By PB barrel I assume you mean a "patched ball" or round ball (slow twist) drop-in barrel for your T/C? Keep an eye on Ebay. They pop up on there from time to time but you'll have to bid stupid money to get one in very good to excellent condition.

Here's one in .50 caliber, but like I said it's stupid money...

Or maybe you could try these folks. You are looking for a percussion barrel... correct?

Sorry Rebstud...

I noticed after I posted the link for Cain's that the item says "Out of stock". I would give them a call anyway. They purchase from a number of vendors so they may be able to find you one. I've dealt with them in the past. Ed Cain is a nice fellow and very helpful.

nchawkeye,

Just curious...how long does it generally take from the time an order is placed with Ed do you receive your barrel and are they unfinished (in the white) when you get them? I have never dealt with him nor do I personally know anyone who has.

Lots of better conicals will work in your TC barrel. Spending money to buy a barrel to shoot a Powerbelt seems unwise.

If you meant a PRB? That's different. Getting a longer slow twist barrel is worth the money.

Dang if I know BPS...The last two I got from him were in the 80s...

He's still doing it though because the guys in the Traditional Muzzleloading Forum still talk of him...
