Triple Seven Pellets?
Has anyone had any problems with Triple Seven Pellets hang firing? I shot 5 times on Saturday and 4 of them hung.

RE: Triple Seven Pellets?
No-- but, I always snap a few 209s first, followed by a fouling shot. I presume you are using 209s? What gun?

RE: Triple Seven Pellets?
Knight disc elite! I swabbed the barrel with a dry patch and snapped a cap before I took the first shot.

RE: Triple Seven Pellets?
Snapping two or three is a good idea-- Knight recommends holding a dry-patch against the breechplug w/ ramrod, then firing.
For whatever it is worth, Federal 209A primers are the best-- I' ve had misfires with everything else, but never with Federals. |
RE: Triple Seven Pellets?
snapping caps is fine at the range , what is going to happen when you are in
the woods? i' d be looking at different powder ,caps, and or , breech plug |
RE: Triple Seven Pellets?
I always snap off a few 209s, and the fire a fouling shot before a hunt-- regardless of rifle.
Is this something new, or has it happened before? |
RE: Triple Seven Pellets?
Funny I heard the winchester primers are the best by a number of other shooters. I am new to the 209 ignition, so any thought are always greatly appreciated.
I noticed my ML (Rem 700) shoots well clean and up to 3 shots, then accuracy drops off. As such I hunt clean and never have had a miss or problems(maybe I am just lucky). Is a fouled barrel something that most do or just personal preference??? I have post on range and cleaning with regards to 777, anybody with some thoughts I would really like to hear them. (I am also new to the 777 powder) Thanks |
