Something just aint right

Something aint right when you've gone several months without shooting your muzzleloaders.
To make a long story short between work and other important stuff I just haven't got it done lately. But today I decided to take the time to do it. I bought an older mk 85 a few months ago and decided to shoot that. It has a 22 inch barrel which is kind of rare for an mk 85, in fact its the only one I've ever seen. This gun is no safe queen and shows plenty of signs of being used. If you look down the bore in the right light you can see some light pitting but it isn't something you feel when swabbing or when loading. I decided to try it with some home cast UC shorts. They weighed right around 451 grains. For powder I went with 75 grains of Goex 2f. Here is the pic of the rifle:

I set the target up at 50 yards since I was using open sights and it was the first time with this gun.

I monkeyed around with about 8 shots to get the peep sight set up close to where I want it. Then I shot this five shot group:

I don't know what the heck happened on that first shot.
This old gun might have been rode hard and put down wet a time or two but it still can shoot.

That is some very good shooting. I think you have a real shooter there.

I just saw the ol predator mk85 in a local gun store for 200 bucks used but in very good condition, I figure if Flounder can own a family of them then so can I.
