New muzzy

Lets try this again . If I was going to get a new muzzleloader ( which I'm not):D what would you recommend?

I voted other. By the way, you forgot Lyman. I guess you're thinking in-lines.

But for anyone who doesn't have one, a TC Hawken or Renegade stock with a Green Mountain .54 or .58 with a slow twist 1:70" barrel is a "must have" on my list.

I also voted other. Most of your selections are inlines, and for some reason they no longer interest me that much. I am going to phase out my inlines if I can ever talk myself into selling them. and go strictly traditional. Now I am not advocating that inlines are bad and traditional are the only way to go. But for me, and the kind of shooting I do. I just want to go traditional. Actually I want to eventually settle on flintlocks only. So that should really cut the herd.

Huh?

You both voted "other" but right now there is only one vote for other?? I was going to vote other but im assuming you mean mass produced or regular "production" MLs.

Other 1 7.69%

I voted other too. :biggrin::biggrin:

Three of us voted other, but the poll still shown only one such vote?

I suspect this voting system is being run by Democrat operatives.

I just voted other as well... Hmmm. I demand a recount.

I would have voted LHR as I really do think they make a quality gun, but you said you already had one. I think you have all the Knights, so that's out, and for TC outside of the Triumph, Omega and Encore I don't know that they have much to offer. I already know how you feel about CVA, so that leaves other, likely something somewhat custom.

So what are you getting?

You must have been reading my mind Dave, I pretty much think the same and I voted "other" as well. I'm also with Semi on the T/C & GM combo. I have a Renegade stock with a flint .54 GM barrel 1:70 twist and Davis "Deerslayer" double-set triggers along with a custom ramrod built by this man....

I voted for the Knights but on a more limited budget i would go for the CVA

WV Hunter 06-30-2013 05:14 PM

I voted Knight. I'd personally like to try out the UL, it would fit alot of my hunting well.

hubby11 06-30-2013 05:35 PM

I can only recommend what I have and like, so it had to be either TC or Knight. If I personally was to get another ML, I would be looking hard at the LHR.

nchawkeye 06-30-2013 06:31 PM

If you are not....

Why vote??????????

oldsmellhound 07-01-2013 08:57 AM

TC for me- I'd go with a Renegade with an extra GM barrel. I already have enough inlines, and don't plan on buying any more.

Simply because the originator of the post was asking for recommendations from the forum members if HE were to buy a new muzzleloader.
