MMP or Harvester
#2
I choose the one that fits and groups the best. I use both depending on the load and bullet. I seldom use the Havester Crushribs but they are popular in very tight bores. My 50cal bores are only slightly tight and the Harvester black SMOOTH sabots for under 300gr bullets work better for me. Surprisingly the MMP short black sabot shoots better in the same gun if i use a 225gr bullet. Its quite a bit larger loaded OD than the Harvester "short" black but it doesn't feel a lot tighter.

Another good trick for really tight bores....MMP 50x458 orange sabot but use a 300gr .451-.452 bullet. The sabot is kinda long so short bullets might need the sabot petals trimmed back. Loaded OD comes out to about the same as the MMP 3P-EZ.

There is an often over looked problem that could be involved her. A lot of barrels do not get shot with the right load to get broken in [read polished] and there for use a thinner sabot than the one that would actually shoot the best. Sabots take a very long time to accomplish this. Some of us use 100 strokes of JB Bore paste on a tight patch [I use ticking] changing the patch every 5 strokes and putting more paste on each new patch.
