My favorite space saving ML tools

This little screwdriver set is fairly cheap and small enough for the tool bag. It also has a 1/4" drive adapter for sockets.

Wheeler Space Saver.

There is just enough room inside to store a 1/4" hex 1/8th and 5/32 drill bits for cleaning the breachplug. I know the "bit on a stick" is popular but i like these better. Longer actions might require a longer drill bit, driver or a 1/4" hex extension.

These are great for cleaning the flash channel even by themselves or with a small 1/4" hex bit ratchet.

Cheap sets of 5 are around $5 at Sears and hardware stores.

This little 1/4" hex head ratchet with bits you can usually find near the checkout at hardware stores. Not 1/4" drive but 1/4" HEX. They sell hex and standard drive too.

This one has both 1/4" drives and is similar to mine. IIRC i paid under $5 for it

Altogether i paid under $25 and the Wheeler set is pretty good quality. The ratchet is pretty cheap but good enough for stock screws and the hex drill bits. A small 1/4" box end wrench will also work "ok". Add a couple of 1/4" drive sockets and you have pretty much all the tools you need in a very small package.

GM54,

I have that same set of Wheeler screwdrivers and keep them in my feild box. I also have a Chapman set that came with the small ratchet-tool. Very handy indeed!

I have a small set that is the same design as those allen wrench sets that fold into a 'handle' about 1" square and 3 1/2" long. Normally if I need anything other than that I have a serious problem. But that is a nice set to have. My Wheeler set is a lot bigger than that one.

Nope, but i think they have the Wheeler set on sale atm.

I got the Wheeler set at a local gun shop. I got the hex head drill bits at Sears Hardware and the cheap ratchet at Ace hardware or Harbor Freight.
