Default Shooting with Fear

Wife' fear was that i would get stuck, and before i left i endured a lecture.
My fear was that the rifle would smack me in the face.
The situation with the rifle started in the thread Cheekpad for Dream Season
Today i was able to shoot the rifle 15 times without severe pain, so it seems the belt sander work was successful. The snow was deep, and some snow removal was required to allow me to see the bottom target. The load, scope, rifle etc. were all the same as described in the Cheekpad thread.

Upon returning home the hawk was in the yard eating something. My fear was it was eating one of our friends. However, it turned out the meal was of a Eurasian Dove, so that was good news.

The hawk is gone now, and the crow is having thoughts of finishing the dove.

Here are the primers used today.

There are things worse than a little cold and snow.

What happened to me prior to this weather coming our way was not so very good. Whilst i was hiking in the beautiful spring weather, a tick found me; crawled into my underwear, and attached itself to my privates. The good thing is it didn't try me out a half dozen times like sometimes. There is only one swollen itchy spot for me to endure for a month or so.

However, when all this snow melts with a warming spring, i will be hiking into tick country once again; chances are, i will unwillingly feed more ticks before summer comes.

I just got through spraying my clothes for turkey season with permitherin (sp?). I don't mess with ticks and the nasty diseases they bring!!! Lyme disease is bad stuff.

Must have been a female tick! Well I am glad you found it - poor thing probably would have starved to death anyway...hehehehe.
But anyway - that was pretty good shooting for 200 yds. Some day I am going to have to shoot my ML that distance.
