JStanley' Breech Plug Modification

The breech plug was installed without any oil, grease, or teflon tape. The photos of the breech plug show it wasn't a perfect seal, but as before, the soot only goes about half way into the threads. There is zero blow by around the breech plug. The breech plug was trivially easy to remove. Not having to install or remove any kind of a sealant is a pleasure!!

Yesterday, a scope was mounted on the last rifle around here that had never been shot. The breech plug was replaced with an older plug with JStanley' modification done. The rifle was shot at 25 yard, 100 yard, and then 200 yard. This morning we went back out with a clean rifle, and made 15 shot at 200 yard with the intention of finalizing the scope setting. The top target was shot first; the scope adjusted, then the bottom target was shot. Right or wrong, it is my opinion, the shooter is the reason the groups aren't tighter.

300g Deep Curl bullet, 110g Blackhorn powder, crush rib sabot, W209 primer

It very well may be the spare rolls of teflon tape on the shelf, will be there for a long long time, because it appears JStanley' modification have made them moot.
