Please note that the page I posted in the thread staes that 80 grains ff black powder is the maximum load. I guess I can't go with any heavier load than that for the .45 anyway. I also would guess MMP thinks my loads are heavy enough.

and I am shooting that same sabot with 120 grain T7 load shoting a 230 grain bullet.

and you are correct on the load recommendations on the package but things have changed a lot since those labels were produced.

PR bulllet offers a 40-260 grain bullet in that same sabot and recommends loads way above what you see on that package.

Another you might not know it that sabot even though it is not listed in the HPH section on the MMP sight is made with the new HPH polymer formula.

When that sabot first came on the market, how ever many years ago the load reccomendations were very resonable for the pistol bullets available at that time. And the sabot was the old polymer plastic which is not nearly as strong as the new polymer.

Again those loads will work very well with the the range that the load will give you.

These shots were all made with that sabot and a 200 grain bullet...

And I probably should add in a 1-48 twist which is probably a side hammer the max load might be 100 grains unless it were a newer TC 45.

They are heavy enough for whitetails at shorter distances.

They are not heavy loads though. Not compared to what is used today for bigger game, or longer shots.

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO ADJUST TO THE TWIST.
By reduced loads as when we shoot PRB in a fast twist or by matching the length of the bullet to the twist.
I have had good results shooting sabots with short bullets out of a 1-48 twist, but the twist I have had the best results with shooting both PRB and sabot with bullet is the 1 in 38.

Exactly, and a shorter bullet is a lighter bullet, and a lighter load.

And Muley I agree with that totally...

Well shoot, this has gotta be a first... I agree with your whole post... Maybe the Myan calendar is correct - the world is going to end...
