One last deer down with the Omega.
Shot a good size doe this past Sat. morn with my Omega, 90 grains RS, and a 240 gr. XTP Mag (.452). It was during the late winter antlerless season in IL. The shot was only about twenty yards and I was sitting on the ground behind a deadfall. She only ran about forty yards. The sad part was watching a big ten point and a big eight point walk by ten minutes later and all I could do was watch.

Well, watching gets your heart pumping regardless. Congrats on the doe.
Where did you hit her, and what did the bullet do? |

Congrats on the late-season doe. Wish I were still hunting... |
Congratulations on the deer. I have been in the same hunting boots. Antlerless only and then see a buck that you can not touch.

I'm having just the opposite problem. I need a doe for the freezer but our club has decided to leave the does alone this year because our herd is down. All I'm seeing is does - no bucks.

Hit her just behind the right shoulder almost perfectly broadside. It broke a rib and went straight through. I will post pics but only took ones of the inside.
left is entrance and right is exit |
