Flint Q

My flinter needed a new peice of flint so after checking a couple store and no one had them i went to gander mtn. All they had was TC "premium agate flints". Anybody use them before, do they spark reliably? i will be testing them out tonight hopefully.

shoot over at track of the wolf for
TOM FULLER BLACK ENGLISH FLINT
I have gotten 60 or more shot with them on my T/C flinter

Yes the T/C Agate Flints work very well. The problem with them is once they are dull you can only sharpen them with a Muzzy or Diamond Wheel and a Dremel tool. And then they are never 100% again. But I actually like hunting with a new agate. I am assured that I will have a nice long spark normally. The best Agate I ever shot was from Lyman. I lost count of how many shots I got off that thing. I was wondering after a while if it was ever going to wear out.

But normally I shoot a Thomas Fuller Black English Flint.

I agree. Go to Track Of The Wolf, for the Fuller Black English Flints. Many more shots per flint than the T/C Premium Agates. Also the T/C flints are expensive.

alright thanks everyone. I'm using this for a lyman trade rifle and i just put it on. gave a good spark, hopefully i'll get to test it on a deer tomorrow.

im new to buying flint. my dad gave me a plastic bag with 3 pieces that looked like the tom fuller old english flints. i don't really know what size to get but the t/c agate fit perfectly it seems.

I actually really like the TC flints. I was at D1cks sporting goods one day and they had packages of 4 flints for $2.50 each. I don't know if it was a missprice or what but I bought everyone they had. I'm stocked up pretty good for a while.
