New Knight Rifle

I went by the Knight Factory yesterday to pick up my new Mountaineer 45 caliber. And to my surprise, I was allowed to build my own. After I picked it up, I mounted a three by nine scope and off to the range. Yesterday it was about eighty degrees and sunny with very little wind. I started at the fifty yard line shooting a hundred grains of Triple 7 with 175 grains Barns. The first three shots came in at about 5/8 of an inch, just off the Bulls eye at nine o-clocks. Not bad for bore sighted gun. My next three shots were taken with the New 200 grains Blood Line with the same powder charge. It didn’t take me long to decide what bullet I will be shooting on the first hunt this year. The Blood line is a much longer bullet, and with that being said, you know it has a higher ballistic coefficient, I will be posting pictures after the next trip to the range. I brought home the entire set of targets so I could show off, to my Wife. My hat is off to the guys at Knight they really know how to build a muzzle Loader. I have been shooting a Knight Disc for the past sixteen years. My first was a 22 inch barrel that I bought in 1997; I liked it so well I bought a Master Hunter a few years later. This Mountaineer may be their best Rifle yet. I will let you know after I spend some extended time at the range, and pick up my new Ultra-Lite. Remember shoot straight, shoot often, and always shoot a Knight.

I was just talking about this wonderfully made firearm. Who would of ever thought a front loader would have a jeweled bolt action. Green Mtn. barrel is another one of knights added features. You have a good one there sabotloader and cayugad too is a proud owner of a new Optima. Things around this forum are going to start heating up.

That is a nice rifle you have there.. I have a few problems with the NFPJ model but good rifle. High quality from the muzzle to the end of the stock and thats what I mean to. Those damn butt pads are JUNK!!!! they are too soft and just rub away....

Look at Ron's in the classified section, mine is the same way!

Call Knight on the butt pad, they will take care of it. They did for me anyway.

Are they any different or are they the same pad? Just can't see a point in switching out if it is the same cheap junk.

Wish they had limb saver pads on them, they would almost be perfect then . I love the one on my TC!

Hey Boone, they actually changed out the whole stock on the gun. They were not reproducing just the pad, so they replaced the whole stock. I'm not sure if they are still doing it this way but that is how they took care of mine. I agree with you, those pads are way too soft.
