Guys I really need your help!!!!!! I got my gun shooting great, in fact I killed an ole doe with it yesterday. Anyhow, I took the breech plug out and did a minor cleaning for the hunt that I am going on tomorrow. after putting everything back together. I realized that the hammer wouldn't stay back when I cocked the gun. Any ideas on what could cause this?

Not sure what gun you have. Have you got the BP screwed all the way in?

Give the gun a good snap shut and see if that helps.

Thanks for the replies. I called SabotLoader and he told me what the problem is. Turns out that I had some build up of burnt powder where the shelf of the barrel and the front of the breech plug meet. I was able to clean some of that corrosion off of the barrel face and that solved the problem. Thanks to all.
