Speak for yourself you old goat.....:D

I was having second thoughts as I watched momma pulling apart that stump the same way we would open a bag of chips. But I knew if I moved or made any noise, things could have gotten a bit 'sticky'. I had a feeling they were going to go the way they did because there was a road crew about 300 yds behind me on the highway and I could faintly hear the guys talking.

Even when I was a young goat. Animals were stronger. :p

I've got the muscles of an Angus bull. (They're in my freezer.)

That's really cool Bronko. I agree, bear encounters are the highlights of my hunting seasons. I could sit and watch them for hours. We have some we have been catching on camera this year. Young bear are especially fun to watch.

People say I'm crazy as well for huntin' them with a bow. I have a 300lb sow on my wall that was killed with a bow and I didn't feel the least bit worried about it. Black bear aren't the same as brown bear in regards to their aggressiveness.

Semi, I do believe your chubby fingers got a 'g' in there!

I just did some research. I've always believed that all bears protected their cubs. It doesn't seem to be the case with black bears.

True for the rest of the bears, but not the black.

Bronko,

I didn't make up that story...LOL...it’s actually the way we use to train our dogs and some people still do today. I will tell ya this; them ole boys down at the bar wise up real quick when they see us coming afterwards...LOL...It is the most fun you can have. On a serious note generally a sow will put her cubs up a nearby tree and attempt to lead the danger away from her young. Also, did you know that a sow with cubs won’t breed so boars will attempt to eat the cubs so the sow will come in heat? Also, if the food source isn't plentiful some sows will not breed due to the lack of the necessary dietary staple...LOL
Did I happen to mention I am a wildlife biologist??? sorry for the mass info. Ya know I thought us Mountain people were the one's that wasn't smart. I gotta see someone yank a big cat out of the tree by its tail. I aint doubting ya, just wanna see it...LOL

Mike
