Boy Am I Tired!!
Got back from my hunt camp yesterday and I beyond tired. We had our work weekend this past weekend and had a lot of work to do. I think I went through three tanks of gas working my chain saw. So many trees down. We had a few heavy storms this past year and it seems all the trees either came down in all our trails or actually in the tree stands. A lot of damage. But I think my body is in need of repair after all this.
Getting old stinks!!! Ah, the golden years. Yeah, BS. I think it will take a whole week just to recuperate and get ready for opening day on Oct. 6th. Archery seasons stats first and I am pumped. That is if I am regenerated and able. This was my last year as hunt captain for my property. got a younger guy to take it over and now I can sit back and enjoy my fruits of labor. :violin: |
I feel your pain rafsob. This summer the loggers did a thin cut on our lease and left a lot of downed trees and trash on our trails and food plots. We spent two weekends cleaning up the mess. Then Hurricane Isaac came through and dropped a lot of trees and we had to do it all over again. I really don't think those deer appreciate how much trouble we go through just getting ready to kill them.

I feel for you RESOB.. Like my momma says "Gettin old ain't for sissies"
But look on the bright side. Look at all the firewood you have now. Of course getting old does have its benfits. Why just yesterday I walked out of the local grocery store with mixed emotions. My bill was less than it should have been and I found out why. Although I saved some money, that little snot nosed cashier gave me a senior discount...! |
I know the feeling, after a day of running the chainsaw the ole back aches. It aint like you can say things are gonna get better, they just get worse with age.

I always walk out of the market spending less that I expected. That's because I forget to buy half of what I wanted.
Sort of a feel good, feel bad type of thingy. |
When I was young, I could run a chainsaw all day and then dance all night. Now I run a saw five hours, go sit down, and think... oh my gosh am I done yet?
You need to build yourself a sauna there. With all that wood, nothing draws out the aches and pains better the a sauna. When I lived over seas I went to the sauna every night. So did all the ladies, and they were communial if you know what I mean...:woot: |
